Glossary, destination wedding planning terms
Destination wedding A wedding intentionally held away from the couple's home, usually requiring travel and accommodations for guests. The location is part of the experience rather than a backdrop.
Multi-day celebration A wedding spread across two to four days, typically welcome dinner, ceremony, reception and farewell brunch, each with distinct atmosphere yet a shared narrative thread.
Creative direction The aesthetic and conceptual leadership of a wedding: palette, design language, spatial flow, florals, stationery and editorial coherence, applied from the very first conversation rather than added at the end.
Cross-cultural wedding A wedding that celebrates two or more cultural traditions cohesively, Italian-Arab, European-Indian and similar. Requires fluency in protocol, food, music and ritual from multiple cultures.
By-invitation pricing By-invitation studio model where pricing is shared on consultation only and the studio limits intake to a small number of projects per year, allowing depth and presence.
