Private event, Sakhalin Restaurant, DubaiSakhalin Restaurant, Dubai
Sakhalin sits on Jumeirah 1 Beach, where the architecture is sharp, the materials are cool and the sea is always present in the room. It is the first restaurant the White Rabbit Family has opened outside Russia, a fine dining seafood house built around live tanks and fish laid on ice under brand chef Vladimir Mukhin. It already has its own confident point of view, which makes designing an event inside it less about adding and more about listening to what is already there.
For this private celebration we set the table in the language of the place. Sculptural florals in coral and peach, silver elements that echo the sea, light shading from afternoon clarity into the warm gold of sunset. Nothing competes with the architecture, every choice extends it.
The dessert was treated as part of the design. Composed like a piece of jewellery and placed deliberately within the tablescape rather than presented from a separate trolley, it becomes one more sculpted moment of the evening, photographed and remembered as carefully as the florals.
Private events in Dubai are often staged in venues with this kind of strong identity: restaurants on the beach, rooftop pools, sky lounges. Working inside them well means understanding the atmosphere first, then editing toward harmony rather than statement. We brief vendors with that in mind, plan the timeline around the light, and keep the guest journey unhurried from arrival to the last toast.
The credits belong to a small team working close together. The cake and the food came from Sakhalin itself with Alexandra Deeva, the florals and the silver sea forms were built for the room, Sabr Embroidery made the place holders and the embroidered pieces, and 57 Jewellery dressed the looks with shoes by Sergio Rossi. Isakova Polina modelled, GurveenK did the makeup and Cydney the hair, and Tina Tintorri Films shot both the stills and the film.
The result is the kind of evening that feels both celebratory and hushed, intimate by design rather than by accident. A reminder that the most memorable private events are not about excess, but about harmony between place, food and the people gathered there.
