An intimate welcome dinner where the elegance of the sea meets bold architecture and contemporary style, set along the shore of Jumeirah 1 Beach in Dubai. Here the energy is relaxed yet refined: metallic reflections, soft coastal light and the rhythm of the waves create an atmosphere that is at once cinematic and deeply personal.

Sakhalin is the first restaurant the White Rabbit Family has opened outside Russia, a fine dining seafood room brought to J1 Beach under brand chef Vladimir Mukhin. It is built around the sea in the most literal way, live tanks and fish laid on ice in full view of the room, and that is a decision every designer working inside it has to answer. You either soften it or you agree with it. We agreed with it. Dubai is the group's first room abroad, with Moscow, Bodrum and Istanbul still to come, and it carries itself accordingly.

The focus was never on conventional wedding décor but on the dialogue between shadow, light and texture. A silver octopus took the centre of the table, coral shapes and dusty blue linen ran the length of it, and the palette was kept close to what the room and the water were already doing. Nothing floral was allowed to read as a wedding arrangement, because the moment it does in a room like this it looks borrowed from somewhere else. The architecture frames the celebration, the sea sets the mood, and every detail, from the structured couture to the movement of the guests, becomes part of the visual story.

The evening was shot on 15 January 2026 by Tina Tintorri Films, with Isakova Polina modelling, hair by Cydney and makeup by GurveenK. Sabr Embroidery made the embroidered place holders, 57 Jewellery the jewellery, and the gowns came from Endless UAE and Sarah Seven with shoes by Sergio Rossi. Alexandra Deeva handled the venue and the food. MARIKA Magazine ran it in its exclusive edition of 28 May 2026, and Rock My Wedding published it in June as Between Sea and Architecture.
